My sweet family on my 25th birthday. Twenty five was a pretty sweet year, and I am so excited to be entering into my twenty sixth year as a family of three. 🙂
This past year has flown by, and God has used both the joys and difficulties to grow us in so many ways! God has been so faithful to us and our marriage and we look forward to another year together filled with His grace!
We are especially thankful, and so overjoyed that the Lord has chosen to bless us with a child! 🙂 His ways are perfect.
Baby Smith is due January 6th, 2014!
What precious truths!
How sweet and aweful is the place
With Christ within the doors
While everlasting love displays
The choicest of her stores
While all our hearts and all our songs
Join to admire the feast
Each of us cry with thankful tongues
“Lord, why was I a guest?”
“Why was I made to hear Thy voice
And enter while there’s room
When thousands make a wretched choice
And rather starve than come?”
’Twas the same love that spread the feast
That sweetly drew us in
Else we had still refused to taste
And perished in our sin
Pity the nations, O our God
Constrain the earth to come
Send Thy victorious Word abroad
And bring the strangers home
We long to see Thy churches full
That all the chosen race
May with one voice and heart and soul
Sing Thy redeeming grace
I have been really encouraged and convicted by the Girltalk blog’s (http://www.girltalkhome.com/) series Our connected heart. I am working through reading it and this particular article hit home. Although I do not get on the computer in the mornings on weekdays and by God’s grace often see my need for Christ when I wake up, throughout the day I can find myself stuffing my soul with ‘small’ things ruining my appetite for the great.
